Auto glass repair in Santa Ana from a registered shop
Santa Ana has no shortage of people who will fit a windshield out of the back of a van. Fewer of them are registered with the state. We are, our registration number is at the bottom of this page, and we quote a firm number before we drive out.
- Mobile at no extra charge — your driveway, your office lot, your job site
- ADAS camera recalibration on the same visit, not a second appointment
- We bill your carrier direct — GEICO, State Farm, USAA, AAA, Farmers, Progressive
- Workmanship warranted for as long as you own the vehicle
You're all set, there.
We've got your request. A Speedy tech will call you shortly to confirm the glass, your coverage and a time that works.
Why we lead with a registration number here
Santa Ana is, by the city's own figures, the fourth most densely populated place in the United States among cities over 300,000 — around 12,471 people per square mile. Density like that supports a large informal auto glass trade: operators working from a van with no registration, no insurance, and no address you could find again if the glass leaked.
Plenty of them do acceptable work. The problem is that you cannot tell which from a phone call, and if it goes wrong there is nobody to go back to. Every automotive repair dealer in California is required to be registered with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. Ours is printed in the footer of this page, next to the business name exactly as it appears on the certificate and the phone number the Bureau has on file. You can check it — and it is the single most useful question to put to anyone quoting you for mobile glass. A registered dealer hands you a number you can verify; an unregistered one changes the subject.
Hablamos español — de verdad
Most Santa Ana households speak Spanish at home. We have Spanish-speaking staff answering the phone and on the vans, so the quote, the appointment and the safe drive-away instructions can all be handled in Spanish. You will not be put on hold for a translator.
The city is currently rebuilding its main arterial
This is worth knowing because it is actively affecting your windshield. Santa Ana is partway through a phased reconstruction of Bristol Street — a 3.9-mile arterial rebuild that has been running in stages, widening the roadway, adding protected bike lanes and a raised median. Combine that with the OC Streetcar's years of embedded-rail construction along Santa Ana Boulevard and Fourth Street, and you have torn-up arterials across a dense street grid.
Roadworks are a glass problem specifically because of what they leave on the surface: loose aggregate, temporary asphalt lips, milled pavement and steel plates. At 12,471 people per square mile, everybody is driving over all of it, several times a day, a couple of car lengths behind somebody else.
County-seat traffic, which nowhere else in OC has
Santa Ana is the county seat, and the County of Orange is by far its largest employer with roughly 19,000 staff, most of them at the Civic Center. The justice centre here hears matters for cities across the whole county, so jury summonses, court dates and permit appointments pull drivers in from all 34 Orange County cities and send them home again the same day. Add the SR-55 and SR-22 wrapped around the city, I-5 running through it, and the Orange Crush interchange nearby handling something on the order of 540,000 vehicles a day, and there is no quiet direction out of Santa Ana.
Because so much local driving is short-hop, chips here often go unnoticed for weeks and then run in one hot afternoon. If there is a star in your glass now, a repair is quick and most carriers waive the deductible on repair. Left until it crosses your eyeline, it becomes a replacement.
Parking is the real scheduling constraint
Much of Santa Ana is apartments and subdivided older housing with tight shared lots, tandem spaces, or permit street parking that fills by early evening. A windshield replacement needs the vehicle stationary with room to work around it while the adhesive cures.
What usually works: a morning slot while a neighbour's space is free, your workplace car park, or a nearby surface lot agreed in advance. What does not: a tandem space with a car boxed in behind you, or a permit block where the vehicle has to move for street sweeping halfway through the cure. Describe your situation and we will find the workable version — it is very rarely a flat no.
Where we work
Residential streets and apartment lots citywide, Downtown Santa Ana and the Civic Center area, the industrial belt along South Grand and East Dyer, workplace car parks along Grand and Bristol, and the South Coast Metro edge.
Every piece of glass on the vehicle
One mobile team, one visit. If the camera behind your windshield needs recalibrating afterwards, we do that too rather than sending you somewhere else.
Windshield replacement
Crack past repairing? We fit new glass to the adhesive maker's spec and tell you the real safe drive-away time.
See windshield replacement →Chip & crack repair
Caught it early? A resin repair takes about half an hour and most carriers waive the deductible on repair.
See chip & crack repair →ADAS recalibration
Move the glass and you move the camera that aims lane-keeping and automatic braking. We recalibrate and hand you the scan report.
See ADAS calibration →Back glass & rear windows
Rear glass shatters into pebbles rather than cracking. We vacuum it out of the seats and cabin, and match the defroster grid.
See back glass replacement →Door & side windows
Broken into overnight? Usually cheaper than a comprehensive deductible, so most people just pay cash and never file.

Tell us what broke
Send the form or call. Your VIN or plate gets us the exact glass for your vehicle, including whether it carries a camera, rain sensor or heating element.
We check your coverage first
Before anyone is dispatched we confirm what your policy covers and what your deductible actually is, so the price you hear is the price you pay. No claim is filed until you say go.
We come to you
Your driveway, your office lot, your job site — at no extra charge. We fit the glass, recalibrate the camera if there is one, and tell you when it's safe to drive.
What California drivers actually pay
Straight answers, because there is a lot of misleading advertising in this industry.
California has no free-glass law
You may have seen ads implying windshields are free by law in California. They aren't. Florida, Kentucky and South Carolina require zero-deductible glass coverage — California does not. If your glass is fully covered here, it's because you bought a full-glass endorsement, not because of a statute.
So what will it cost?
It depends on your policy, and we'll check it before we dispatch rather than after. Two things are usually true: comprehensive coverage pays for glass minus your deductible, and most carriers waive the deductible on chip repair because a repair costs them far less than a replacement.
Your insurer can't pick your shop
Under California Insurance Code § 758.5 your insurer cannot require you to use a specific shop. It cannot recommend one unless you asked for a referral or were told in writing that you may choose. Once you've chosen, it cannot steer you elsewhere, and it cannot cut your reasonable repair cost down to what its own shop would have charged.
No insurance? That's common
Plenty of our work is cash-pay, especially door glass, which often costs less than a comprehensive deductible anyway. Tell us the vehicle and we'll quote you a real number with mobile service included, not a "starting from" figure that changes when we arrive.
Speedy Windshield Repair is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any insurance company. Carrier names appear on this site only to indicate that we bill those insurers directly.

What the warranty actually covers
"Lifetime warranty" is meaningless unless somebody writes down what it includes. Here's ours.
Covered, for as long as you own the vehicle
- Water leaks caused by our installation
- Wind noise caused by our installation
- Moulding and trim failures from our fitting
- Workmanship defects of any kind on our install
Not covered — and we'd rather say so up front
- New impact damage — a fresh rock is a fresh job
- Stress cracks spreading from damage that predates our work
- Defects in the glass itself, which carry the manufacturer's warranty
- Damage from a later collision or a break-in

Check our Bureau of Automotive Repair registration number in the footer of this page, next to our registered business name and the phone number the Bureau holds for us. Ask the same of anyone else quoting you — a registered dealer can give you a number you can verify, and an unregistered one cannot.
Often, but tell us up front. A windshield needs room to work around the vehicle and the car must stay put while the adhesive cures, so a space with another car behind you is difficult. The answer is usually a morning slot, your workplace lot, or a nearby surface lot arranged beforehand.
No, and a lot of our Santa Ana work is cash-pay. Tell us the vehicle and we will quote a real number with mobile service included. If you do carry comprehensive cover we will check what it pays before dispatching, and we bill the major carriers directly.
